Simon Palomares is a Spanish-Australian comedian, actor, and writer, best known for his role in the groundbreaking Australian TV show Acropolis Now (1989-1992), where he played Ricky Martínez. Living in Madrid as a child, Palomares moved to Australia in the 1970s. He studied acting and psychology before embarking on a career in stand-up comedy. He is recognized for his wit, blending cultural observations and humor, especially about migrant experiences. Beyond comedy, Palomares has directed theatre and documentaries, including Latigo, which explores Spanish-speaking comedians worldwide. His work continues to celebrate multiculturalism and comedy’s unifying power.
