This earring making class will teach you how to create hoop earrings from silver wire, and how to add movement and pizazz to your earrings through unique wire shapes and beads. Learn about the fundamentals of working with silver, including how to file, polish, and add texture to your pieces.
Please note: This class is for all experience levels, but earring fundamentals is a recommended prerequisite.
In this class you will learn:
- Create hoop earrings from silver wire
- Discuss jewelry design fundamentals (symmetry, movement, etc) and show example pieces
- Use hammers and bench blocks to add texture and to work-harden earrings, discuss work-hardening metal
- Discuss filing and polishing techniques for working with silver
- Add beads, charms, and/or small pieces of chain to hoops using the one-step looper/pliers
- Free design time!
In order to maintain a respectful and conducive learning environment for all students and instructors, students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to class will not be permitted to enter and will forfeit their class fee. This policy ensures that disruptions are minimized and that everyone can fully engage in the learning process without unnecessary interruptions. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Class Dates: Sunday, September 14th, 2025: 1:00 - 3:00pm
Materials: Please bring the following materials to the class (All materials are available for purchase at 10% off for 2 weeks prior (after you sign up) and 1 week after the class. No further discounts.):
- Silver wire (sterling silver round wire, 18 and 20 gauge) - 1 Foot
- Hammer
- Rubber and steel bench blocks

Chain nose pliers, Round nose pliers, Cutters, & the 1-step looper will be provided (feel free to bring your own if you are more comfortable!)
