Laureate Pictures welcomes you to a New Year's Eve bash at the swanky Beverly Hills mansion of studio boss Howard D. Reese. 1927 is sure to be a banner year for the studio, and the stars are here to celebrate. And not just the stars. Mr. Reese has invited everyone who works for him, from publicists to costumers to the lowliest extras. (No doubt a gatecrasher or two will slip through, too, but why spoil the mood by getting worked up about that?) So raise a glass of bubbly and toast to the glorious future of the moving pictures!

About the game:

Silver Screen Shadows is a rules-light Mythos-style horror larp set at a Hollywood party at the height of the silent movie era. We’ll explore the contrast between glamorous, highly-manipulated image and humble, even ugly reality.

Player characters include actors and other studio employees as well as a few outsiders. None of the characters are actual people. (In other words, nobody is playing Greta Garbo/Douglas Fairbanks/etc.) No prior familiarity with the period is necessary.

Pre-Written Characters: This game has pre-written characters with secrets, plot hooks, and relationships to other characters. Players will receive a link to a casting form which help us match you to a character you'll love.

Costumes: Costumes are encouraged, but not required. There will be a free photo booth available before and after the game.
