Silk embroidery is often frustrating for those who haven't done it before because silk floss is something that needs to be treated with care and respect. However, the end results are spectacular, and really do look like the work of queens from ages past! In this workshop, Alma Alexander will guide students through creating a work of silk embroidery worthy of admiration. Using silk embroidery floss and metallic thread, students will have the option to stitch a stylized Celtic motif, a compass rose, or the pattern of their choice. Patterns will be provided by Alma.
Materials Needed: *
1. Silk embroidery floss in 2-3 colors (you may wish to choose the colors during class after you select your pattern)
2. Metallic gold embroidery floss
3. Embroidery hoop (medium sized)
4. Embroidery Fabric (amount will depend on the pattern you choose)
5. Stabilizer
6. Silk floss embroidery needle
Dates and time: March 15th and 22nd, 1:30 pm-3:00 pm
Price: $75 + materials
* All materials can be purchased at Northwest Yarns. Any materials purchased in store for this class will receive a 10% discount. Please let your cashier know!
