Silicon Soul: An Intimate Night of Dance Music w/ Sonrisita (LA)

We are thrilled to welcome the extraordinarily talented Sonrisita:

Melissa Dueñas aka Sonrisita is a DJ based out of Los Angeles. Coming up as a record collector in her hometown of San Diego, Melissa pursued DJing as a means to create space for overlooked sounds. As a DJ she’s known for building eclectic sets that weave together dance music from the past and present. Melissa’s played in various cities across the U.S. and in Mexico City. She’s opened up for artists like Quantic, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Dam-Funk. Throughout the years she’s had radio residencies on WorldWideFM and Dublab where she took deep dives into various facets of music culture through her curation and guest interviews. No matter what she’s doing, Melissa’s intention is always to use music as a vehicle for dialogue, healing, and community.

Silcon Soul is also very excited to welcome one of Portland's rapidly rising stars, Ezmer who will be providing direct support ahead of Sonrisita.

Ezmer, who grew up in a small town Washington (Moses Lake) shares that she's just a small town girl with a big dream. While she's mostly known for her grooving house and tech house sets, she gets down with a range of genres including trance, techno, and drum and bass. She draws inspiration from the moments on the dance floor where her selections are able to inspire movement and looks forward to eventually sharing her own productions.

Our theme for the night is Deep and Sexy - our selectors will take you on a journey through space and time. Expect deep cuts connecting to the past and cutting edge tracks leading us into the future.
