About this Event
Hello my name is Samir and the core of my life's work is to preserve ancient Indian's meditation practices and offer them to others as healing medicine. More about me is here: www.theoriginalyoga.com/about
What: Renewal of our Relationship with The Sacred-Body Consort
We will be meditating together as a group accompanied by movement.
Remember that the loyal consort, our friend- the body is the first to signal us that something is needed, felt, desired or neglected. It is our first responder in order for us to not only survive but to thrive, dance and stay in tune with the Divine.
Once we tune into ourselves, our bones, muscles, tendons and throbbing organs and our breath— we heal our relationship with the sacred and return to our magnificent body-being.
We will explore body based practices from ancient India including Buddha’s Satipatthana-Sutta, Osho’s Dynamic Meditation, Pantanjali’s Yoga and Kashmiri Tantra to restore our relationship with divine consort and our connection to the cosmos.
When: I will be holding space for the next four Tuesdays, starting March 28, April 4, April 11, April 18th. 7:15pm-9pm. The idea would be to explore an ongoing Tuesday evening for meditation together.
Where: 933 Parker Street Berkeley, CA 94710
By Donation: My work is supported by your generous donation. We rent the space so there are ongoing fixed costs for it as well as the teacher needs to be supported.
See you there and meanwhile, enjoy this poetry from the Indian Saint Kabirdas-ji
In This Body
Who can know this? The one who knows!
Without a teacher, the world is blind.
In this body forests and hamlets, right here mountains and trees
In this body gardens and groves, right here the one who waters them
In this body gold and silver, right here the market spread out
In this body diamonds and pearls, right here the one who tests them
In this body seven oceans, right here rivers and streams
In this body moon and sun, right here a million stars
In this body lightning flashing, right here brilliance bursting
In this body the unstruck sound roaring, streams of nectar pouring
In this body the three worlds, right here the one who made them
Kabir says, listen seekers: right here my own teacher.
Who can know this? The one who knows!
Without a teacher, the world is blind.
- Poet Kabirdas-ji
