About this Event

Silent Letters: Addressing Invisibility in LGBTQIA+ Health and Social Care LGBT Ireland's 5th Annual Pride Healthcare Conference Friday, June 12th | RCSI, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 | 10:00am – 4:30pm

Some experiences in LGBTQIA+ healthcare remain largely unspoken, not because they don't exist, but because the systems meant to support them weren't built with everyone in mind. This year's Pride Healthcare Conference shines a light on the voices and experiences that are too often invisible: queer women's health, asexuality, intersex healthcare and human rights, and the lasting harm of conversion practices.

Bringing together researchers, advocates, lived experience experts and healthcare professionals, Silent Letters is a full-day conference dedicated to honest, grounded conversation about what it takes to build healthcare and social care that truly includes everyone.

The day includes:

🔹 Women's Health Focus - in partnership with LINQ Ireland.

🔹 Intersex Healthcare and Human Rights - a presentation from Sorcha Ní Fhaoláin, Secretary of Intersex Ireland, on the experiences of the intersex community in healthcare

🔹 In Conversation with Yasmin Benoit - hosted by Anna Nolan, Chair of the National LGBTQ+ Federation. Yasmin is an internationally recognised asexual and aromantic activist and researcher

🔹 Panel Discussion: Building Healthcare Workforce Capacity — educators, leaders and practitioners exploring how services can better support LGBTQIA+ communities through training, leadership, policy and organisational culture

Full Agenda 10:00 – Tea, coffee & registration 10:30 – Welcome & introductions (LGBT Ireland & RCSI EDI) 11:00 – Women's Health Focus with LINQ Ireland 12:30 – Intersex Healthcare and Human Rights with Intersex Ireland 1:15 – Lunch 2:00 – Open Space 2:15 – Fireside Chat with Yasmin Benoit, hosted by Anna Nolan 3:00 – Panel: Building Healthcare Workforce Capacity 3:45 – Wrap up
