Not-So-Silent-Cinema presents a program of comedy shorts by the great Buster Keaton accompanied by live, original music by Brendan Cooney. Cooney is music director of the Philadelphia-based “Not So Silent Cinema”, a group that has been performing new music to classic silent film for 15+ years with a rotating casts of musicians. This performance features the New River Ensemble, a genre-stretching chamber music ensemble. New York clarinetist Martha Hyde is a veteran of Broadway, Radio City Music Hall and the Gotham Wind Symphony. Cellist Lisa Liske-Doorandish is an in-demand performer and teacher based in the Triangle area. Philadelphia pianist and composer Brendan Cooney is Not-So-Silent-Cinema’s musical director. The trio regularly presents chamber music concerts, live film scores and educational workshops.
The Buster Keaton Films presented this evening will be:
