Silent Book Club Abuja

The Silent Book Club started in 2012 with a couple of friends reading in companionable silence at a neighborhood bar.

The concept is simple yet revolutionary: we meet up at a bar or cafe to read in communal silence. Once the bell rings, silent reading time commences. After an hour, the bell rings again. Liberated from the orthodoxy of traditional book clubs, you can bring whatever you'd like to read. Before and after the designated reading time, you're welcome to chat about anything and everything - including your favorite books.

Other than that, there are no rules. Register to join us, or simply show up.

A typical Silent Book Club Meeting goes like this:

30 minutes - People arrive, order drinks/food, share what they're reading

1 hour - Quiet reading time

30 minutes - Optional socializing, or just keep reading

This page-turning party will unfold in Lomo Cafe. There's no entrance fee, but please order at least one item from the cafe and don't bring any outside drinks :)
