Please join the Public History Institute on Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, in the Dezember Reading Room of CSUB’s library for a program on “Sikhs in the San Joaquin: Exploring More Than a Century of Punjabi Migration, Settlement, and Community.” The event, which is free and open to the public, features an excerpt from the documentary film Roots in the Sand, a short lecture by Religious Studies Professor Shaheer Afaqi, and a panel discussion with members of Bakersfield’s Sikh community.
