Listamannaspjall við Sigurð Guðjónsson
Jóhannes Dagsson, dósent við myndlistardeild LHÍ ræðir við listamanninn Sigurð Guðjónsson í tengslum við verkið Hula.
Sigurður starfar einnig sem prófessor við myndlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands.
Verkið Hula (2012) eftir Sigurð Guðjónsson er 60 mínútna samfelld vídeóupptaka með hljóði, heillandi skráning á svifi sandkorna yfir svartar breiður Skeiðarárssands. Sandstraumarnir líða án afláts eins og þunnur vefnaður yfir bylgjótt landið, sefjandi og að því er virðist endalausir í senn. Það er ætlun listamannsins að verkið skapi áhorfandanum andlegt rými til að slökkva á meðvitundinni og leyfa huganum að reika. Hula verður sýnd á stærri skala en áður. Verkið var keypt til safnsins árið 2015.

Artist Talk with Sigurður Guðjónsson
Jóhannes Dagsson, Associate Professor in the Fine Arts Department at the Iceland University of the Arts, talks with the artist Sigurður Guðjónsson in connection with the work Veil.
Sigurður is also a professor in the Department of Fine Art at the Iceland University of the Arts.
Filmed in one continuous camera shot of 60 minutes duration, Sigurður Guðjónsson´s mesmeric video Veil (2012) records the movement of sand blowing across the black dunes of South Iceland´s Skeiðarárssandur. The gauze-like flows of sand move across the undulating landscape in a manner that is both quietly meditative and seemingly endless. It is the artist´s intention that the video provides a "mental space for the audience to zone out of their own consciousness “. Acquired by the National Gallery in 2015, Veil will be shown at a cinematic scale.
The event will be held in Icelandic.
A valid museum admission ticket is required to attend the event.
