About this Event
Come along on Thursday 26th March 10am - 12pm for a guided walk around this relatively new grassland nature reserve which was previously an area of arable farmland. It is a wonderful time of year to spot the early signs of Spring!
Horsley Meadows is a SANG (Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace) and is managed on behalf of The Land Trust.
Set in a quiet area of countryside near the village of West Horsley, it has a 2.3km trail which winds its way around the gently sloping site. There are magnificent mature oaks, newly planted hedgerows and areas of scrub under big skies. A wildflower meadow also creates floristic diversity on the reserve.
Important information:
The walk is approximately 1.5 miles on footpaths and tracks with some minor obstacles and steps. Walking boots or wellington boots are recommended as it can get muddy. We will walk at a gentle pace with lots of opportunities to stop and ask questions.
This walk is aimed at adults (18+ years old). Unfortunately this site is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility. Please do not bring dogs on this walk.
Parking and meeting place:
Parking is available at Horsley Meadows car park, off Long Reach - see map / image below.
Unfortunately, there are no toilets available on site.
