A bit about the workshop:

Significant Ink: Newcastle brings you a free screenwriting workshop with Emily Low at the John Marley Centre. You could be brand new to writing or this could be the first time you’ve dabbled in screenwriting! Places are open to people who are 18+ and are part of the Global Majority (click for the definition if you are unsure).

This workshop is funded by the North East Combined Authority.

About the Workshop Facilitator: Emily Low

Emily Low is a writer, performer and storyteller based in the North East. You might catch her clowning around in comedy sketch shows or bringing stories to life for families in Ouseburn. Her monologue Fold Me a Paper Man won the Alphabetti response writing competition and her TV comedy Lucky Cat won the New Writing North / Channel 4 Writing for TV Award in 2024. Last summer she wrote and performed her children’s play Land of Lost Stories and her dark comedy Chopstick Dance! was performed at Live Theatre earlier this year. Emily is currently developing new work with the wonderful Rollem Productions.
