Signature Dark is a novel musical concept which runs the gamut of vivid and atmospheric soundscapes from ambient to drone, doom jazz and experimental music. The visual concept supports the audio narration, which is another key part of the piece.

Tuomas Toivonen is an architect, musician and sonic artist. His recorded solo works and performances often combine carefully composed text, slowly evolving atmospherics, deep pulsating rhythm drones, and experiments in technology, process and form. Solo releases include New Album (2005), Urbanism in the House (2010), Urbaani komedia (2015) and In the forest, I tell my child, we should stop and be still (2023).
Apart from his solo projects, Toivonen has founded and sustained collaborative projects spanning from the of the 6-piece mesmeric r’n’b-dub outfit GIANT ROBOT, to TTxTAL’s bard-core duo with Tuomas A. Laitinen and TURHAAN EROTTI KAUKONÄKÖINEN[…]’s meditative free-jazz intensity with Jarno Tikka & Lukas Growe or the slow electroacoustic live manipulations of KINESIS and MONOLIITTI with Timo Kaukolampi.
LIVE: Iro Haarla & Aniida Vesala
Iro Haarla is a notable, internationally recognized pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader.
In her long career she has performed widely in Finland, Europe , North America and recorded
albums for the German label ECM, and for the Finnish labels TUM-Records and Svart Records.
Lately she has also published records for her own label Willa Silva Records.
Aniida Vesala is a highly imaginative drummer and percussion player. Her playing is based on
Afro-American and progressive rock music. Lately she has extended her skills to a more creative direction.
Recently Aniida Vesala has been a drummer in Iro Haarla Electric Ensemble ( on the album ”What Will We Leave Behind - Images from Planet Earth” / Svart Records and the Iro Haarla Ouranos Ensemble on the album ”Ouranos- Under the Firmament”/ Willa Silva Records.) The duo’s collaboration began already in 2017, when DJ Bunuel invited them to perform at his
40th anniversary celebration at the Helsinki Kulttuuritalo ( the Helsinki Culture House).
Our new common work in the ambient style is inspired by the nature. The musical expression of
this 45-minute work will based on Haarla’s unique keyboard sounds and melodies. The rhythm lies in the dynamic hands of Vesala by the use of a special drumset, including e.g. the uniquely
Finnish wooden percussion instrument ”Loota Block”. The music of the duo leads us into the mysterious and colorful soundscapes of the primal forest

Noise Trees is composer and sound artist Jukka Koops. He explores long-form sound and repetition through modular synthesis, field recordings, sampling, and feedback.

In their creative practice they combine Ukkonen’s exploratory take on electronic music production with Korhonen’s dramaturgical approach to songwriting and performing.
For Signature Dark they will use hardware synthesizers and vocals to create a soundscape where eery lullabies meet doomsday drones. A place where folk aesthetics and deep electronics interlace.

Random Doctors is a Helsinki-based VJ (Video Jockey) group formed in 2004. Mixing up live visuals they explore the depths of our cultural subconscious fearlessly challenging djs and musicians to push their limits. Feedbackbackback is visual artist and art educator Tomas De Rita. He enjoys utilizing outdated technology in a modern setting. Often using analog equipment, audio controlled lighting, and tube displays in his performances, De Rita's methods are refreshingly unconventional for today's times. Experimental VJ techniques ensure that each Feedbackbackback performance is both entertaining and a unique experience.

Yu-Hsuan Yao is a Finland-based Taiwanese visual artist. She works primarily with moving images and photography, and new media. Her art explores merging cultural differences, discusses sustainable development, and engages in conversations with the viewers.

DJ Das Venn
From a family history of diverse music to hoaning an ear for electronic sounds — Das Venn’s influences can be heard in many ways. Her sonic palette is imbued with an early interest in ambient, IDM and lofi-sound. Currently she brings her more relaxing soundscape out at Marski, while carrying a darker sound in the co-founded concept Collusion Helsinki. Her sound reflects interest in dark ambient, sentimental techno and other sonic treats impacted by the 90’s and deep emotion.
