Signature Dark is a novel musical concept which runs the gamut of vivid and atmospheric soundscapes from ambient to drone, doom jazz and experimental music. The visual concept supports the audio narration, which is another key part of the piece.

Trumpeter Aki Himanen and drummer Aleksi Kinnunen create atmospheric soundscapes where Scandinavian jazz meets subtle electronic textures. This ambient-focused performance moves between breath, resonance and delicate machine pulses, forming dark, slowly evolving northern soundscapes. Drawing from releases such as Scapes I, Dawn Drops, A Thing With Feathers and Dual Reality, the duo shapes immersive live sets rooted in improvisation and sonic detail. Known for appearances at venues such as Kantine am Berghain and festivals including JazzMi and Jazz:Re:Found, they now present a more introspective side of their sound.

LIVE: !!! FORKO !!!
!!! FORKO !!! is a pseudonym for experimental musical projects of Pori-based musician Mikko Elo, taking different forms on different occasions. Mikko Elo is best known as a versatile bass player and songwriter in such bands as Kuusumun Profeetta, Mama Longhorn and many others. !!! FORKO !!! has mutated itself into solo, duo and trio line-ups at various music and art events. At Signature Dark X WHS Teatteri Union, !!! FORKO !!! will present a one-off ambient solo performance. Driven by 8-string bass, loopers, delays and other effects, it will present a many-layered, ever-changing, drone-like landscape, with improvisational twists and turns lurking around the corner.
LIVE: Ilpo Väisänen
Ilpo Väisänen, born in Kuopio / Finland in 1963, studied visual arts and ceramics, graduated from Turku art academy in 1991 and in the early 90s took part in several solo and group exhibitions. He formed the performance-art group ultra3 in 1991 and in 1993, together with Mika Vainio, the sound group sinO which turned into Pan Sonic (originally called Panasonic). In order to generate his sounds and soundscapes Ilpo Väisänen rarely uses more than the simplest of devices: analog keyboards and other oscillators he’s fabricated himself. In an age of digital ubiquities, his economy of means and anachronistic aura almost constitutes a challenge, indeed a provocation. One discovers this postulate within the solo releases that Väisänen has issued since 1995. His world permanently fluctuates between hot and cold; composed of creaks, whistles, strange noises and rhythmic improbabilities, it’s a world oftentimes futuristic, yet prehistoric.

Radom Doctors is a Helsinki-based VJ (Video Jockey) group formed in 2004. Mixing up live visuals they explore the depths of our cultural subconscious fearlessly challenging djs and musicians to push their limits. From festivals to smallest underground clubs and art events Random Doctors stay true to their mission, to seek the magical moment where music, visuals and audience become one.

Mika Taanila
Mika Taanila is a film-maker / visual artist based in Helsinki. His projects often address the notion of human engineering and the progress of technological evolution. In this collaboration with Ilpo Väisänen he uses analogue 16mm film projections.

VJ Folded Visuals
Folded Visuals takes the viewer to a secret garden after dark. Visions of lakes, ferns and soft moss blend into mysterious signals and a splash of circuit. Whispers and faraway wanders, restless dreams of a long lost drone.
She is a regular VJ and event producer in the Helsinki underground and club scene and organises the VJ festival Aavistus.

VJ Monautomaton
Monika Eva Hauck (aka monautomaton) is a Canadian/Polish VJ and multidisciplinary artist based in Helsinki, Finland. Her practice spans live visuals for performances, festivals, and events, as well as interactive installations and exhibitions. Hauck crafts surreal digital landscapes that merge abstraction with immersion, interactivity, and improvisation.

A. Myllykoski is an audio artist, composer, producer, and a well-respected DJ from Helsinki, Finland. He is also part of the widely known electronic music group RinneRadio. His latest solo album Humanity was released on Signature Dark label in 2026.

DJ Mihut
Mihut hails from Romania, a country known for its rich musical heritage, with his journey in Helsinki that began in 2015, starting at Bassoradio and nowadays on Radio Helsinki. He founded The Sound Collective, a record label, bringing Helsinki and Bucharest musically closer together, and co-founded among Melak the project H2B. In this SD event he will be playing ambient set.
DJ Das Venn
From a family history of diverse music to hoaning an ear for electronic sounds — Das Venn’s influences can be heard in many ways. Her sonic palette is imbued with an early interest in ambient, IDM and lofi-sound. Currently she brings her more relaxing soundscape out at Marski, while carrying a darker sound in the co-founded concept Collusion Helsinki. Her sound reflects interest in dark ambient, sentimental techno and other sonic treats impacted by the 90’s and deep emotion.
