This time around @signals_ambient will present something a little different..we’ll be kicking off the night with an artist talk at 7pm, featuring a Q&A with naarm experimental guitarist & synthmaker @nitecaller_music about the process and motivations behind his custom-built T-16 Synthesiser, modelled on the legendary ARP 2600.
he’ll be performing with the T-16 for the first time ever, making this a rare chance to hear the story behind its creation and feel its raw voltages in action..
Niran Dasika [ @nirantrumpet ] is an improvisor and composer whose work covers jazz, free improv and electronics.. described by Dingo Mag as “…filled with contemplation and quietude… a predominant sense of stillness present throughout, of time barely advancing”.. sounds like our jam..
.. and a super special treat : classical pianist Georgi Lewis [ @georginalewispiano ] extends her reach from the concrete comfort of tempo rubato to make an ambient debut.. hinting at Arvo Part, Ann Southam, and John Cage, she works with some of Melbourne’s most respected chamber musicians and composers, including the January premiere of Stuart Greenbaum's epic sonata, ‘Life in Light-years’, which was written for her..
a first for us that you won't wanna miss..
