ANNUAL SIFF HORROR FEST (Syracuse International Film Festival) Spanning the 1970's, 80's and early 90's of classic and low budget horror all on 35mm. Sponsored by SIFF and The Palace Theatre.
Run list from 1st to last:
1. "Tintorera: Killer Shark" - 1977 Mexican British film starring Susan George, Hugo Stiglitz, and Andrés García. Two shark hunters flirt with an attractive British lady while hunting down a large tiger shark terrorizing the Mexican East coast. It's known for its gory shark attack scenes and its exploration of a throuple relationship, while also drawing comparisons to "Jaws".
2. Piranha II: The Spawning - "Piranha 2", an American made film, introduces a new breed of killer fish that can swim, fly, and attack at any time, making them a deadly threat both in and out of the water. 1982 monster horror film directed by James Cameron in his feature directorial debut. It is the sequel to the 1978 film Piranha.
3. The Omen - A US / British co-production. 1976 supernatural horror film directed by Richard Donner and written by David Seltzer. Starring award winner Gregory Peck. This terror movie fundamentally centers on the rebirth of the anti-Christ, it's a creepy story where gruesome and bizarre deaths concerning Satan's son.
4. Terror Within part 1 -1989 sci-fi horror film set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by biological warfare, directed by Thierry Notz and starring George Kennedy and Andrew Stevens.
5. Terror Within part 2 - 1991 Roger Corman-produced sci-fi horror movie. It's an entertaining B-movie with a few good points and faults from the original film. As the last human beings struggle to survive after the apocalypse, mutant gargoyles invade their last stronghold deep below Earth's surface.
6. BLOOD BEACH - 1980 John Saxon creature feature - The premise, conceived by Steven Nalevansky, involves a creature lurking beneath the sand of Santa Monica Beach that attacks locals and vacationers.
