Sidura Ludwig is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning Canadian author. Her debut picture book, Rising (illustrated by Sophia Vincent Guy, Candlewick Press) won the 2024 Canadian Jewish Literary Award. Her short story collection, You Are Not What We Expected (House of Anansi Press) won the 2021 Vine Award for best Jewish fiction. She is also the author of Holding My Breath (Key Porter Books). Her new book, SWAN: The Girl Who Grew (Nimbus Publishing), is a brilliant and tender middle grade novel-in-verse reimagining the childhood of Nova Scotia Giantess Anna Swan. Carol Matas is an internationally acclaimed author of over forty-seven books for children and young adults. Her bestselling work, which includes three award-winning series, has been translated into over a dozen languages. She has received over one hundred awards and honors, including the Sydney Taylor Book Award, the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People and two nominations for a Governor General's Literary Award. Carol lives in Winnipeg. In her new book, Zevi Takes the Spotlight (Orca Book Publishers), thirteen-year-old aspiring actor Zevi is unwillingly thrust into the spotlight when the media discovers his secret abilities - but can he use those psychic powers to save the life of a famous movie star?

Colleen Nelson is a teacher and author of almost twenty books for young people, including her newest early middle grade title, Mystery at the Biltmore (Pajama Press). A few recent accolades she’s rather proud of include a TD Literature Award nomination for The Umbrella House, winning the Silver Birch Award for The Undercover Book List and being a finalist for the Governor General’s Award for Harvey Holds His Own. She’s thrilled to be here tonight with Carol (one of her favorite authors for longer than either of them needs to discuss) and new friend Sidura.
