In 2022, SIDF offers the opportunity to experience contemporary dance from across our region, the U.S. and abroad, including over 120 artists in seven performances from June 11-19. SIDF 2021 selected an array of curators from across the city to help rebuild local dance. SIDF 2022 reaches even further, inviting curators extending beyond Seattle to Washington State, while at the same time, welcoming dance artists from San Diego, New York, New Jersey, Portland, and South Korea. These artists will all converge on SIDF to offer the exchange of ideas, inspiration, and movement inventiveness that represents the world of contemporary dance today.
Artist details for this program, the James Ray Residency Project/Program A:
PRICEarts N.E.W Dance Company
A group committed to creating works that reflect the raw truth of challenges faced in our communities, while simultaneously uplifting these challenges to a place of joy and freedom. Our work is grounded in the accumulation of our individual strengths and ability to meld into one cohesive idea. It is our desire to celebrate and highlight the diversity within our group and our community. We are investing our energy into one another and seeking knowledge and growth. It is our hope that this investment is seen through our movement and used to empower others.
The Gray
The mission of The Gray, founded by Beth Terwilleger, is to develop fruitful curiosities of contemporary dance that empathize with the audiences we adore while serving the artists that we love.
Intrepidus Dance
Intrepidus Dance is a Seattle based dance company: founded in 2014 with the mission to make dance accessible to all. Artistic Director Logan Livingston and Executive Director Weissbach Williams craft their choreography to share experiences that have altered the very makeup of their DNA through, in the hopes they can provide a space of comfort, empathy, and inspiration for all people laying the course of this tumultuous sea of life. Intrepidus aims to be a place where all viewers feel welcome, and works to educate audiences on viewing dance in the hopes of expanding the dance community and our community’s passion for the art of dance.
