Planning is well underway for SSA Camp North. The camp will be hosted by Area 9 but is OPEN TO EVERYONE. The date has been confirmed and negotiations are ongoing with 2 potential venues in the Edinburgh area.At this stage, we are trying to gauge interest so it would be great if you could respond to this FB Event. As you will appreciate, an event of this scale requires a lot of organisation so your assistance is much appreciated.
We will have 2 top class side saddle instructors and there will be opportunity for some astride tuition if required also. The provisional itinerary for the camp is as follows. All elements will be included in the camp cost, which will be confirmed in due course:
Friday 4th May
• Arrive from 1400hrs
• Opportunity to go hacking.
• Dinner with glass of Prosecco on arrival
• Fun quiz night.
• Stabling
Saturday 4th May
• Breakfast, hot rolls, tea/coffee provided.
• Side Saddle lesson (Flatwork, Equitation or Jumping). Saddle hire and fitting can be included if required.
• Lunch provided.
• Side Saddle lesson (Flatwork, Equitation or Jumping). Saddle hire and fitting can be included if required.
• Dinner provided.
• Interactive equitation demonstration
• Dismounted games
• Stabling
Sunday 5th May
• Breakfast, hot rolls, tea/coffee provided.
• Lesson with option for Dressage (sideways or astride), Jumping or Equitation
• Area 9 Show commences approx. 1300hrs with a full complement of side saddle showing and dressage classes (schedule will be released in due course). All campers receive 2 complementary class entries, where there will be a strong focus on novice rider classes. There will be a Championship class with sashes and rosettes to Supreme Champion. Supreme Junior Rider and Supreme Novice. Light refreshments will be provided during show.
Camp North will be a fully catered event, with dietary requirements taken into account in advance.
Stabling may be limited and priority will be given to members of the Side Saddle Association.
We are designing some amazing camp merchandise in the form of hoodies and polo shirts that will be available for pre order.
