Side A: Cover Art Edition
About this Event
Celebrate Black Music Month through art, music, and creative expression at MODA. This interactive workshop invites participants to explore the profound influence of Black music on culture, fashion, identity, and visual art while creating their own custom mixtape or vinyl cover artwork.
Throughout the experience, guests will enjoy curated sounds spanning soul, jazz, hip-hop, house, R&B, funk, and Afrobeats, drawing inspiration from the artists, albums, and musical eras that have shaped their lives. Through digital collage techniques, participants will design original cover art that reflects their personal musical influences and creative vision.
The event will also include playlist-building activities, crate-digging sessions that encourage participants to discover and share favorite artists and albums, and conversations about the lasting impact of Black music across generations and communities.
Whether you're an artist, music enthusiast, collector, or creative beginner, this workshop offers a fun and engaging opportunity to connect with others, explore the rich legacy of Black music, and transform your favorite sounds into visual art.
