Sicilian Cooking Workshops in Berlin: Calzoni & Cannoli + unlimited drinks

We will host you at our apartment, in the historic heart of the city, where our kitchen will become the setting for your culinary creations.

You will know about the origin and history of the symbolic dishes of the Trinacria, connected to the historical, cultural and religious events of the island.

We will cook different variations of Calzoni, with vegetarian options available, and Cannoli filled with Ricotta cheese.

Calzone Fritto is a deep-fried variation of the classic Calzone, which is a folded pizza usually baked in the oven.

It is made by filling a dough pocket with a variety of ingredients such as tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, ham, or mushrooms and many more, and then deep-frying it until it is crispy and golden brown. It is often served as a street food snack in Sicily, and it is a popular choice among locals and tourists alike.

The origins of Calzone Fritto are not entirely clear, but it is believed to have been created as a way to use up leftover pizza dough and ingredients.

Today, Calzone Fritto Siciliano is a beloved dish in Sicilian cuisine, and it is enjoyed both as a snack and as a meal.

Cannoli, on the other hand, are a traditional sweet typical of Sicilian pastry. These are fried waffles in the shape of a tube, then stuffed with ricotta cream and decorated with powdered sugar and chopped pistachios or almonds.

We will provide the participants with everything they need, a welcome drink, wine, beer and water during the entire class.
