Sibshops are events held for siblings of children with special needs and chronic health care needs.
About this Event

Siblings of children with special needs and chronic health care needs are invited to a fun Sibshop event at the McMillan Memorial Library in Marshfield on Satruday, Oct. 24 at 2-5 p.m.

Hosted by UW-Stevens Point faculty and students who are trained facilitators, we have designed this session to be engaging and interactive, including games, art projects, discussion activities and more!

Parents must accompany their child at check-in and when picking their child up on the day of the program.

Cost of $7/child includes pizza, snack and T-shirt.

Registration ends 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19.

Contact us at [email protected] before registering for more information about scholarships for families with financial need.

What are Sibshops?

An adult facilitator guides Sibshops where children, from 5 to 12 years old, enjoy games, activities and recreation mixed with open discussion time for support. For the kids who attend them, Sibshops are pedal-to-the-metal events where they will meet other sibs (usually for the first time), have fun, laugh, talk about the good and not-so-good parts of having a sib with special needs, play some great games, learn something about the services their brothers and sister receive, and have some more fun.
