                                    	Join us for a special Shut Up and Write at Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. Sabina Ott: all this and not ordinary is the first solo exhibition of the Ott’s work since her death in 2018. Her art is represented in significant collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, and Columbia College Chicago.
Ott is also remembered for her fearless creativity and generous support of the artistic community, including the founding of Terrain Exhibitions, an alternative gallery space operated from her own home, which became a vibrant platform for local artists. MMOCA is hosting us as a way of celebrating and connecting the creative people of Madison.
The event will follow a similar schedule to a normal SUAW event, but will start with a brief presentation of the gallery exhibit and the artist work Afterwards, we will use the rooftop lounge at MMoCA for our SUAW session.
Meet in the lobby by 6:00pm. if you're late, ask the front desk staff to be led to the gallery or rooftop lounge.
Remember, any form of writing is ok: novel, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, song, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Come and get some real writing done— in an art space.
SCHEDULE:
6:00 - Presentation of Sabrina Ott's work.
6:10 - Brief introductions of ourselves and share what we are working on.
6:20 - Timer starts.
7:20 - Check in on the progress we made, then keep writing or hang out for a while longer.
