Shrub Pruning and Harvest Workshop

The Shrub Pruning and Harvest Workshop is the first half of Our City Forest's 2-part Herbalism series. Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026 to learn proper pruning techniques and gain hands on experience with harvesting herbs for use!

The pruning workshop will include a theoritical introduction, where we will talk about how and why we prune. The second part will be hands-on experience where participants will be able to prune and harvest herb cuttings from a variety of shrubs across the Urban Forestry Education Center.

Make sure to join us for Part 2 of the Herbalism Series on May 2, 2026 where we will utilize the herbs harvested during this pruning workshop to craft, make essential oils, and enjoy herbal teas.

We ask that all participants wear close-toed shoes and long pants. We highly recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and a hat.

• Participants18 and older must submit a Participant Waiver and Release Form.
• Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian complete the Participant Waiver and Release Form.
• Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to attend.
