Tickets to Champion Reception and opening night of Shrek The Musical are available for a donation of $125, while a ticket for all other performances are $25. Proceeds from the event will directly support BAA’s arts programming and more.

Why Shrek? BAA's First Major Production
Based on the Dreamworks animated Motion Picture and the Book by William Steig, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire, Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.

Opening Night Special: Champion Reception
Join us on Thursday March 16th, 17th, & 18th to celebrate the first all-student major production, including participation of all five core arts majors, at Boston Arts Academy! Shrek The Musical is an all-star student production by Boston Arts Academy Theatre Department. And, it’s happening during BAA’s 25th Anniversary year!
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and former Mayor Kim Janey will be honored by Boston Arts Academy Foundation with the prestigious Champion Award at the 2023 Boston Arts Academy Foundation Champion Reception on opening night. At the completion of the reception, guests will walk across the street and be treated to Shrek The Musical.
