Why? Because we know Scouts who wear Green are really really really cool.
Showing Your Green is an action-packed weekend of adventure, celebration and skill-building for older scouts within the Venturing program, but we welcome any Sea Scout or Explorer who wants a fun relaxing weekend at camp. Enjoy what Rainbow Scout Reservation has to offer. Join us for fishing, trainings, climbing, ziplining, pistol shooting, shotgun, archery, Ga-Ga Ball, rockets, jaws-of-life, drone piloting, bracelet tying, Coast Guard demonstrations, and much more. Training for US Coast Guard Auxiliary Paddle Craft Safety, Goal Setting and Time Management, and Venturing Project Management will be offered.
For those who want Venturing advancement opportunities, we will offer the following:
Showing Your Green is a Tier II event.
Venturing Rank, Requirement #1
Discovery Rank, Leadership #4, Goal Setting and Time Management
Pathfinder Rank, Leadership#2, Venturing Project Management Training
Ranger Award, Cooking 3a and 3f
Ranger Award, Fishing 15a, 15c, 15d, 15i (option Ai)
Ranger Award, Shooting Sports 24a, 24v (pistol), 24vi (shotgun)
Ranger Award, Watercraft 25b and 25e.i.
Cost: $60 per person
$30 for 2 hours of pistol at Shooting Sports (minimum of 10 shooters)
$25 for 2 hours of shotgun at Shooting Sports (minimum of 10 shooters)
$15 for 2 hours of archery at Shooting Sports (minimum of 6 shooters)
Please register by Wednesday, October 4, 2024. Late registration fee of $5 for registering afterwards. Minimum of 40 Scouts and a limit of 100.
All adults outside of Rainbow Council will need to bring a copy of their YPT certification. To participate in COPE, we need a copy of your physical with part A completed.
