The SMF DEI Alliance is proud to host "Affirming the Humanity in All of Us: Showing Up in a Real Way," a keynote address that serves as part 1 of its two-part leadership training series, "Showing Up for All in Stow-Munroe Falls".
In the address, our speaker, Kenyona "Sunny" Park, who is a motivational speaker focusing on issues of diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism, will challenge participants to embrace our shared humanity by leading with authenticity, empathy, and courage. Through storytelling, reflection, and practical insight, participants will explore how showing up for one another creates stronger communities, healthier workplaces, and more meaningful relationships.
The Alliance designed "Showing Up for All in Stow-Munroe Falls" to help local leaders and concerned citizens foster inclusion in the community, through culturally informed, consistent advocacy. Admission to the events is free, but optional donations are appreciated; all donations go toward speaker/facilitator fees.
About the Facilitator:
Kenyona “Sunny” Park is a motivational speaker focusing on issues of diversity, inclusion, & anti-racism. She is a University of Akron School of Law graduate who focused on civil liberties and earned her bachelors from Guilford College majoring in Political Science, Philosophy, and African American Studies.
In 2016, Matthews co-founded Dimensions of Isms with Ginger Bakos. What started out as a three-part workshop on diversity issues (racism, classism, sexism) became a grassroots organization. The vision for Dimensions of Isms is to bring awareness and progression to societal issues through training in corporate environments, church workshops, speaking engagements, and other civil and social organizations.
About the Stow-Munroe Falls DEI Alliance:
The Stow-Munroe Falls Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Alliance is a partnership between the Stow-Munroe Falls DEI Initiative, SMF N.I.C.E., SMF LGBTQ Crew, the Stow-Munroe Falls Democratic Club, and Stow Collaboration for Change.
The SMF DEI Alliance serves as a catalyst for social progress within our city, dedicated to fostering an environment that is both safe and inclusive, where every voice is heard and valued.
Through intentional dialogue, cultural events, and targeted advocacy, we work to dismantle barriers and ensure every resident feels a true sense of belonging.
By bringing neighbors together to celebrate our differences and address our challenges, we are creating a legacy of unity for generations to come and a community where every resident has a true sense of belonging and equitable access to the pillars of social and civic life.
Our work is driven by the belief that our community is at its best when every neighbor can show up as their authentic self. We invite all residents to join us in this ongoing journey of learning, growing, and building a better Stow-Munroe Falls together.
