LA CHIMERA
Running Time: 2hrs 10m / Year: 2023/ Production: Italy/ Rated PG/ In English & Italian with clear subtitles.
Director: Alice Rohrwacher
Everyone has their own Chimera, something they try to achieve or possess but never quite manage to attain. Starring Josh O'Connor as Arthur with a cameo by Isabella Rosselini, this film is a whimsical homage to Italian cinema - a playful fable about an archeological tomb robber who wanders Italy, haunted by the memory of lost love and the promise of buried treasure, accompanied by an eclectic group of fellow thieves, the tombaroli. For them, the Chimera means redemption from work and the dream of easy wealth. For Arthur, the Chimera looks like the woman he lost, Beniamina.
STREAMING SUNDAY - ONLINE - SUN SEPT 29TH - ALL DAY
POOR THINGS
**This film is showing online only on Sunday, Sept. 29th.
Running Time: 2hrs 21m / Year: 2023/ Production: Ire/UK/USA/ Rated 18A
Director: Yorgos Lanthimos
From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter's protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.—Searchlight Pictures
