There is a fable-like quality to this film, which takes place in a small mediterranean village . The Maltese countryside sparkles in the sunlight, and McElhone delights with a charming and slightly loopy performance as Carmen, a woman who has spent her life housekeeping for her brother, the local priest. When things suddenly change Carmen begins to see the world, and herself, in a new light. A perfect film to bring some sun into your life at this time of year!
