Showcase: CINDERELLA

ABOUT THE SHOW
Cinderella lives under the rule of her stepmother and stepsisters, spending her days completing endless tasks while quietly holding onto the hope of something different. When an invitation to the royal ball arrives, it sets off a chain of events involving a Fairy Godmother, a transformed evening, and a fleeting encounter with the Prince that changes everything—and nothing—at once.
This updated stage version expands the world of the classic fairy tale, giving greater weight to the choices Cinderella must make as her life begins to open up. While the magic and romance remain intact, the story places stronger focus on voice, agency, and the moment when possibility turns into action—asking what it means to step into a future you choose for yourself.
ABOUT SHOWCASE
MTAA’s signature Showcase program presents Broadway musicals in a concert-style format with live orchestra and chorus. After just 8–12 hours of rehearsal across two days, participants present a complete musical with scripts in hand and live orchestral accompaniment.
Rather than elaborate sets or staging, Showcases place the music at the center. Students, emerging artists, and experienced performers share the stage in a collaborative performance built around the score, ensemble, and storytelling.
Every Showcase offers audiences the opportunity to experience a full musical from a fresh perspective—driven by live music and a community of performers.
