Now that the Christmas rush is past, we'll be hauling out the boxes from the personal collection of Fr. Charles Merrill. A retired Catholic priest who taught languages and medieval literature at the collegiate level, Fr. Merrill graciously donated his extensive collection of theological, historical, and literary books to The Bookwyrm. If you've heard us talk about All The Boxes In The Back, these are it!
In recognition for his generosity we will be collecting a suggested donation for $5. The donations will go to the Northern Alabama St. Vincent de Paul Society , which helps with groceries, rent and utility payments, and other needs in our local community.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The books will still be in boxes that will be set out around the store. Those with mobility issues should be aware that navigating the boxes may prove difficult. We will of course be on hand to help however it's needed.
Can't make it? Never fear; we'll host many more such events in the months to come. And you're always welcome to ask to see a box or two during regular store hours.
