This community benefit supports Christopher “Mando” Shinn and his family after an accident that left him with a broken hip and pelvis and caused the loss of his primary job.
With a new baby at home and recovery stretching on, the family has fallen severely behind on rent and living expenses. Between the accident, repeated car trouble, and debts piling up, they’re now at risk of losing housing altogether.
They’ve applied for every form of assistance they qualify for, but much of the available funding has been exhausted, and because he fought to return to work part-time (a miracle in itself, given his injuries), they are ineligible for many programs.
This family has worked hard to stay afloat, relying on the kindness of friends while their own families live thousands of miles away or are unable to help. Now, they need the strength of this community to bridge the gap.
On Friday, September 12th, join us at Sticky’s Cabana for a night of live music, food, raffle prizes, and solidarity. Together, we can help this family stay in their home and get back on their feet.
