Parasol Patrol is honored to help shield children from vocal protesters at Hamburger Mary's Very First All-Ages Drag Show in Denver Colorado featuring the fabulous Miss Jessica. In these challenging times, we face more discrimination and threats of violence than in more recent years. The Parasol Patrol are trained volunteers who stand as a peaceful barrier between youth and protesters with the goal of reducing chaos and keeping everyone as safe as possible. Our volunteers and community members will use umbrellas to create a visual barrier and walk audience members to the door of the venue. The organizers are calling for attendees to dress colorfully and festive.Bring your umbrellas and meet at Hamburger Mary's at 6:15 p.m. for a brief overview before kids begin to arrive. Be prepared to be live streamed and recorded by protesters. There will be NO SPEAKING or COUNTER ARGUMENTS with people from hate groups no matter what they may say to provoke children or ourselves. There will be love and support offered to these kiddos in order that they have a safe place to read and have fun.
