About this Event

A Sudanese comedy-drama by Sudanese Youth Theatre

One Sudanese grandmother. A family in Bristol. Plenty of surprises!

When Haboba arrives, she brings warmth, strong opinions and a whole new energy to family life. Between unfamiliar customs, generational clashes and unexpected friendships, settling into Bristol proves anything but ordinary.

Funny, heartfelt and full of Sudanese character, She’s Got the Shib-Shib! explores family, identity, belonging and standing together in the face of prejudice.

Our young performers invite you into a world where Sudanese humour meets Bristol life—and one grandmother always has something to say. Whether “Haboba” feels like home or is a word you’re hearing for the first time, you’re warmly welcome.

Bring your family and friends, support our young cast and enjoy an evening of laughter and community.
