Sherry Cothran is an award-winning Americana singer-songwriter whose recent releases have begun gaining traction on Americana radio, marking a powerful new chapter in a career defined by grit and reinvention. She first rose to national attention as the lead singer and co-founder of The Evinrudes (Mercury Records, New York), scoring a #1 rock radio hit and touring alongside acts like the Goo Goo Dolls, Barenaked Ladies, and Spin Doctors. Based in Nashville, the band was part of an early wave of indie rock artists breaking through in a country-dominated scene.
After leaving the band, Cothran pursued a different calling—earning a Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt and serving for over a decade as an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. During that time, she also released four solo projects, authored two books, moved to Chattanooga, and founded Beloved Woman, a nonprofit helping women build pathways to sustainable income through entrepreneurship. Now returning to music with renewed clarity and depth, her latest work—including the upcoming single “Blue Suede Boots”—blends Americana, rock, and soul, carrying her signature mix of vulnerability and edge forward.
