Indigenous Voices Series:
Sherrie Smith-Ferri is known In Healdsburg for curating the Healdsburg History Museum’s From Diggers Bend to River Rock: Dry Creek Rancheria People and History. She also created the Foley Pavillion history display for Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo and Wappo peoples. For THE 222, this nationally known scholar and storyteller will launch an essential new book based on her knowledge. She will share historically important and entertaining stories about growing up in Healdsburg and Dry Creek from her perspective as a Pomo citizen. Her experience as a basketmaker, with all its cultural associations, adds layers to her popular presentations.
