About this Event
The Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Noon Concert Series at Asbury United Methodist Church features chamber music and solo performances by Bach Festival Orchestra musicians, guest artists, and "Rising Star" young artists from the region. All concerts are free and more info on each of this festival's noon concerts can be found below. We hope you can join us!
Monday, June 12th
Featuring SVBF chamber ensembles in works by Leclair and Auerbach, with a performance of Brahms' monumental Piano Trio No.1 in B-major, Op.8 by Wanchi, Kelley Mikkelsen, and SVBF Artistic Director David Berry.
Tuesday, June 13th
Featuring SVBF chamber ensembles in works by Mendelssohn, Britten, Bach, and Corelli, with guest performances from the Baroque Institute faculty chamber group and Rising Stars performer organist Luke Haynes.
Wednesday, June 14th
Featuring SVBF chamber ensembles in works of Dembowski, Gwyneth Walker, Joseph Weber, and Pergolesi, with performances by Musica Harmonia and the SVBF Low Brass ensemble.
Thursday, June 15th
Featuring SVBF chamber ensembles in works by Couperin, Mozart, Paquito D' Rivera and Ernesto Lecuona, with Rising Stars performers from the Peabody Conservatory Historical Performance Program and a performance of Jessie Montgomery's innovative and groundbreaking string quartet work, Strum.
Friday, June 16th
Featuring SVBF chamber ensembles in works by Mendelssohn, Dring,Tournier and Vaughn Williams, with performances by SVBF harpist Anastasia Jellison and bass-baritone soloist Michael Richardson.
