About this Event
🦪 Join Us for a Shell Recycling Volunteer Work Day!
We’ll be moving oyster shells that will later be used to restore vital marine habitats.
We’ll be working at our shell drop site at the California Historical Radio Society (2152 Central Ave, Alameda, CA 94501). We will be moving about 1,000 lbs of shell from the ground to their shipping container roof for longer-term storage.
âś… What to bring:
- Closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting messy
- Water bottle and sun protection
Register today and help us give these shells a second life in our Bay waters
Volunteer Work Day Schedule:
9-9:30am (@ CHRS): People arrive at California Historical Radio Society and sign waivers. You can park in the parking lot.
9:30-10am: Talk about our work & the activities for the day
10-11:30am: Staff and volunteers will get started moving shell.
11:30am-12:00pm: Wrap up, clean up and gather equipment.
