From the Pacific Northwest to New Orleans--Tennessee to the Texas hill country--singer, songwriter, novelist, and poet Alex Rasmussen has spent much of the last several years traveling the United States and sharing his music: a unique blend of folk and rock fueled by the adventures and heartaches of a nomadic spirit. After spending fall and winter of 2020 / 2021 playing the streets and outdoor music venues of San Diego, the Seattle native has returned home for the remainder of the year, where he is putting the finishing touches on a second novel, playing gigs, and promoting his latest EP, Make it Real, recorded in Los Angeles by Grammy-winning producer Sheldon Gomberg (Ben Harper, Peter Case).
Somewhere between sober and stumbling their way back home, The Hipocrats bring a boundless take on New Age American music. Drawing inspiration from real life scenarios, the two have recently begun an energetic songwriting campaign with hopes of publicizing their stories. While they insert metaphor, emotionally compelling lyrics and silk-like harmonies into their songs; this punchy duo’s raw and humorous personalities are on full display. Longtime friends, Tyler McGinnis and Sarah Brunner have spent the last 2 months inseparably inside Sarah’s haunted apartment writing 7 new songs. Hailing from Northern Michigan and Southern California, the two have always had music in their lives. They started working together on Sarah’s recent release, “Caravan.” Since then, it’s safe to say that was a good decision. Though The Hipocrats may be young, they intend to leave a lasting impression on everyone who hears them.
