FREE creative workshops in Boathouse 4 this half term Join the creative fun in Boathouse 4 as seasoned sailmaker Sarah Liscoe will teach you how to create a small open-top bag using open-weave cloth.Workshop 1: Morning Session 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Age: 8-12 years old (Max 8 participants)
Create a small open-top bag using open-weave cloth and take it home.
Learn about the history of the cloth
Explore the importance of recycling and reusing materials
Basic sewing skills, including running stitch, stitch and buttonhole, splicing of rope and four knots
Workshop 2: Afternoon Session 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Age: 12-16 years old (Max 8 participants)
Create a small-medium open-top bag using open-weave cloth and take it home.
Activities:
Learn about the history of the cloth
Explore the importance of recycling and reusing materials
Discover sustainable practices through a comparison of burnt cloth and plastic
Develop advanced sewing skills, including running stitch, stich and buttonhole, splicing of rope, and four knots
A responsible adult must accompany the child participant for the duration of this workshop
