SUNDAY, MARCH 15TH, 1:00PMJoin us for a performance that promises whimsey, cheek, and fire in equal measure, transporting you across time and space to early modern Ireland and Scotland. We will featuring musical works for harp curated by the Maclean-Clephane sisters and Lady Margaret Wemyss, fiddle pieces by Mistress Magdalen Stirling, lyra viol music from the Leyden Manuscript, and traditional tunes by Carolan. These sounds will weave through poetry by Letitia Pilkington, Mary Monck, and Frances Sheridan. As always, L.A. Camerata musicians will perform on period instruments, including a clarseach (Scottish period harp), baroque fiddle, and viola da gamba.
This show will mark our debut at the newly-opened Harp Center Los Angeles, the coolest place to experience art and all things harp while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea from the on-site cafe! Following the performance, audiences can interact with performers to learn about our instruments and peruse harps for sale on site.
