The Finn Lowery Foundation is thrilled to be hosting Trans Tasman Rower, Shaun Quincey on the 7th May. As well as talking about a range of topics, Shaun will also present the 2024 Finn Lowery Award to this years recipient.
In 1977, Colin Quincey became the first man to row the Tasman. Forty years later, his son Shaun decided to emulate his father - rowing the other way. At the time, he owned little more than a drum kit and a heap of dreams. While he was at home in the water - an experienced surf lifesaver and swimmer - in his own words he had never been so scared, had less money, been laughed at as much or been so unprepared for anything in his life. That he succeeded is history and testament to personal endurance, resilience and sheer tenacity.
Since succeeding in rowing the Tasman, Shaun has written a best selling book and built and sold a payments technology company. Join us on 7 May to hear of Shaun’s epic 54 day adventure on the Tasman Sea and how to find purpose, challenge yourself, set goals and be courageous.
All details are provided in the event page. We look forward to seeing you on the 7th!
