Salil Chowdhury remains one of the most important icons of the golden era of Indian film and non-film music. His legacy spans multiple languages and he reached remarkable heights as a composer, poet, lyricist, and storyteller. In tribute to this legend on his birth centenary, Barisha Behala Sangitik has organized a two-day special programme, titled, `Shatoborshe Salil`. The event will celebrate his iconic songs, poems, and memorable anecdotes. On the second day of the event, renowned singers like Haimanti Sukla, Alok Roy Chowdhury, Agnibha Bandyopadhyay, Srikanta Acharya, Sreeradha Bandopadhyay, Pallav Ghosh, Subhankar Bhaskar, Sampa Kundu, Manomay Bhattacharya, Madhurima Dutta Chowdhury and Gaurab Sarkar will perform the timeless melodies of the master composer. Samya Karpha will bring his poems to life through recitation, while Sharmistha Goswami Chatttopadhyay will narrate the event and Sandipan Ganguly will oversee the musical arrangements.
