[🇵🇱PL poniżej👇] The radio play created by Art Institution Management students will premiere at the Between.Pomiędzy Festival. The project was developed within the Sharing Crafts: Producing Riders to the Sea elective course, led by Irish director Clara Simpson and Tomasz Wiśniewski.
🎭The performance will be an audio interpretation of the original text. Thanks to the use of microphones, a format akin to a radio play will be created. Such a form of play invites the audience to step outside of the rigid confines of traditional stage interpretation, which allows for an exploration of the linguistic and audio dimensions of the drama.
🌊"Riders to the Sea" is a play that is widely recognised as one of the most outstanding one-act dramas in the canon of English-language literature. The play combines tragedy, dramaturgy and ambitiously constructed language with search for hope and fatalism. It takes place in an unfriendly seaside setting, which, thanks to its universal nature, creates space for students to find the modern, local interpretation of this timeless work of art.

[🇵🇱PL👉] W trakcie Festiwalu Between.Pomiędzy premierę będzie miał spektakl radiowy stworzony przez studentów zarządzania instytucjami artystycznymi w ramach fakultetu Sharing Crafts - Producing “Riders to the Sea” by John Millington Synge, prowadzonego przez irlandzką reżyserkę Clarę Simpson i Tomasza Wiśniewskiego.
🎭Spektakl będzie stanowił dźwiękową interpretację oryginalnego tekstu, a przy wykorzystaniu mikrofonów powstanie format niemal sztuki radiowej. Taka forma pracy zaprasza widzów do wyjścia poza sztywne ramy klasycznej interpretacji scenicznej, umożliwiając eksplorację warstwy językowej i dźwiękowej dramatu.
🌊„Riders to the Sea” to utwór powszechnie uznawany za jeden z najwybitniejszych jednoaktowych dramatów w kanonie literatury anglojęzycznej. Sztuka łączy tragedię, dramaturgię, ambitnie skonstruowany język z poszukiwaniem nadziei i fatalizmem, a jej akcja rozgrywa się w nieprzyjaznym nadmorskim kontekście, którego uniwersalny charakter stwarza dla studentów przestrzeń na odnalezienie współczesnej, lokalnej interpretacji w tym ponadczasowym dziele.
