Our guest, David Marcelino Cayetano, is a member of the Nahua-Azteca community from the Huasteca Potosina region, a professor of the Nahuatl language, and a documentary filmmaker committed to preserving and promoting Indigenous heritage ✨

The event will begin with a screening of the award-winning short documentary El Último Viento (The Last Wind). The 20-minute film, presented in Nahuatl with subtitles explores the teaching of the Nahuatl language, the traditional Dance of the Sticks, and the changes taking place within contemporary Indigenous communities in Mexico.

Following the screening, David will give a presentation about the traditions, languages, and everyday life of Indigenous peoples in Mexico. The event will conclude with an open discussion and a space for questions from participants.
