Hear Roma community stories. Work across sectors. Shape practical action. A storytelling and co-production workshop.
About this Event

This workshop is part of the Roma PlaceAge project (2024–2027), a UK-wide participatory study exploring how place shapes health, wellbeing, and quality of life for Roma people in mid to later life. Working in partnership with Roma communities and voluntary and community sector organisations across Govanhill/Glasgow, Peterborough, and Luton, the project has been gathering stories, mapping experiences, and understanding what heath and wellbeing means for Roma communities - and the barriers and opportunities that shape positive outcomes.

This event - Shaping Support Together: Roma Health and Wellbeing in Mid to Later Life - is the next step: moving from research to action.

You have been invited because your expertise, role, or area of responsibility is directly relevant to the lives of Roma people in Glasgow. Your perspective matters.

This is not a traditional consultation. It is a genuine co-production process where your knowledge, alongside the lived experiences of Roma community members, will help identify practical priorities and place-based interventions that support positive outcomes for Roma communities.

On the day you will:

• Engage with storytelling drawn from lived experiences of Roma communities in Glasgow

• Work in small, cross-sector groups to explore what those stories reveal about gaps, barriers, and opportunities

• Contribute your professional knowledge to shaping emerging priorities

• Help identify concrete actions that cross organisational and sector boundaries

The format is practical, engaging, and grounded in real experience. All materials will be provided. No preparation is required.
