Local businesses are invited to take part in a followup workforce hui on Thursday, June 11 from 4.30–6.30pm at the Raglan Surf Lifesaving Club, Ngarunui Beach.
This session will focus on testing the ideas, challenges and opportunities raised at the initial hui with the business community before any final development or funding conversations take place.
Workforce Development Advisor Jami Dickson says local businesses have a crucial role in shaping the future workforce direction for Whāingaroa.
“A strong local workforce supports every Raglan business, whether you’re a sole operator, a familyrun business or managing a larger team,” she says. “The more voices we have in the room, the better chance we have of creating something that genuinely works for our community and for local employers.”
The next stage focuses on understanding what businesses are willing or able to contribute, while ensuring future workforce initiatives are shaped collaboratively with employers, schools, MSD, Waikato District Council, Gateway programmes and community organisations. Local businesses are encouraged to get involved and help shape the direction before plans are locked in.
