This sound journey is a very special edition with five musicians coming together only for this occasion, where different pathways of medicine music fuse together to become one unique blend, one unique shamanic sound experience with the experienced A*yahuascero Arno Adelaars and the Finnland based Tuvan Throat Singer Imre Peemot supported by the life long musical expertise of Jan-Frank Gerards, Bart Engel and Amsterdam based producer Rufus. After one year this is to be the second edition of this completely improvised journey. The first edition resulted in a recording mastered and produced by Rufus, which can be listened to on Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/album/1Nou8vrb7aHE9eT0DeTqAP?si=57AGCZwTT4G6cSnMjdPdCA
This second edition will be enriched through Jan-Frank Gerards, so this time altogether 5 gifted musicians will weave their magic into one long moment of sound. This session will be recorded as well and released during the following months, so you can dive back into a one of a kind experience.
ARNO ADELAARS has a background of drug research, and wrote books on ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and aya*uasca. He makes music in aya*uasca ceremonies since 20 years. He is a multi-instrumentalist playing shaman's drum, conga, maraca, handpan, harmonica, mouth harp, flute, etc. Look for 'Sacha Huasi Aya*uasca Music' on Spotify and other streaming services.
IMRE PEEMOT has been traveling to learn vocals and instruments from various “world music” traditions around the world. One of the most important of these has been Tuva. For the past 22 years he has been a practitioner of tuvan throat singing- khöömei, igil-horse headed fiddle and other tuvan folk instruments . He has been acclaimed in Tuva and internationally as one of the finest. Based on the tuvan folk tradition, or its aesthetics, he has released albums both solo and with group Cedip Tur. He has performed and taught in many countries around Europe and in Tuva.
He’s emphasis has been more in teaching khöömei in the past years and there will be a 2 day workshop after the sound journey in Amsterdam.
JAN-FRANK GERARDS has been playing music together with Arno Adelaars in mostly ceremonial settings for more than 20 years all over the world. He is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and his repertoire includes the shamanic drum, handpan, mouth harmonica, maraca and bandola (colombian 12 string instrument).
BART ENGEL plays guitar and several South American string instruments. He is as well a electronic music producer and he has been producing Arno's latest release "Sasha Huasi A*yahuasca Music"
RUFUS started off as a musician playing in bands but slowly developed into the field of producing and audio engineering. Now he is shifting his focus onto meditative music and sounds that can serve a more holistic purpose and/or guide therapeutic practises.
