Join us for an exciting Shakespeare Text Workshop at the Charleston Gaillard Center! Unlock the Magic of Twelfth Night! In modern verse translation by Alison Carey. FEATURING A Special focus on translating select lines into Gullah, cultural concepts and exploring the rhythmic structures shared between the Gullah language and Shakespeare’s works. Join us for a dynamic fusion of Shakespeare and Gullah using modern verse translation! This workshop, led by Black women creatives, scholars, and theatre and language practitioners, centers on women, femme, and non-binary individuals. Prioritizing care and community, we aim to deepen cultural connections, inspire understanding, and encourage the exploration of new and old ideas.
